چکیده

In wireless communication systems, mobile users adapt to a time varying radio channel by regulating transmitter powers. This power control is intended to provide each user an acceptable connection, as measured by a carrier to interference ratio (CIR), by eliminating unnecessary interference. It is important that a power control algorithm can converge quickly to a xed point at which either all users have acceptable connections or an infeasibility can be detected. In this work, we show that an iterative power control and base station assignment algorithm based on CIR measurements converges to a unique xed point at a geometric rate. This conclusion is shown to hold even if some or all of the users are subject to maximum power constraints. The rate of convergence is evaluated by simulation of a one dimensional CDMA system.

Optimal Reconfiguration of Distribution Network for Power Loss Reduction and Reliability Improvement Using Bat Algorithm

In power systems, reconfiguration is one of the simplest and most low-cost methods to reach many goals such as self-healing, reliability improvement, and power loss reduction, without including any additional components. Regarding the expansion of distribution networks, communications become more complicate and the number of parameters increases, which makes the reconfiguration problem infeasib...

Radio Resource Assignment in Multiple-Chip-Rate DS/CDMA Systems Supporting Multimedia Services

This paper is concerned with radio resource allocation in multiple-chip-rate (MCR) DS/CDMA systems accommodating multimedia services with different information rates and quality requirements. Considering both power spectral density (PSD) over a radio frequency (RF) band and the effect of RF input filtering on the receiver in MCR-DS/CDMA systems, criteria for capacity estimation are presented an...
